Batmax Battery Review for PSP-2001, PSP-3001, PSP-3002, and PSP-3004

If you’re a fan of the Sony PSP, you know the importance of having a reliable battery. After all, you don’t want to be in the middle of an intense gaming session and have your console die on you. That’s where the Batmax Battery comes in. This third-party battery is designed to work with the PSP-2001, PSP-3001, PSP-3002, and PSP-3004 models, and promises to provide long-lasting, dependable power. In this review, we’ll take a closer look at the Batmax Battery and see if it lives up to its hype.

Overview

First, let’s talk about what exactly the Batmax Battery is. Essentially, it’s a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that replaces the original battery that came with your PSP. The Batmax Battery has a capacity of 1200mAh, which is slightly higher than the original PSP battery’s capacity of 1200mAh. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that the Batmax Battery will last longer than the original battery. We’ll test this out later in the review.

Installation

Installing the Batmax Battery is a breeze. Simply remove the battery cover from the back of your PSP, and then slide out the old battery. Slide the Batmax Battery into place and replace the battery cover. That’s it! The whole process should only take a few seconds.

Design

In terms of design, the Batmax Battery looks very similar to the original PSP battery. It’s the same size and shape, and has the same connector. The biggest difference is the branding – the Batmax Battery has “Batmax” printed on it, while the official PSP battery has “SONY” printed on it.

Performance

Now, let’s get to the most important part – how well does the Batmax Battery perform? We tested the Batmax Battery by playing several different games on our PSP. We started with a fully charged Batmax Battery, and timed how long it lasted before the console shut off due to low battery.

Game 1: Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories

Our first game was Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories. We played the game for 2 hours and 30 minutes before the PSP shut off due to low battery. This is slightly longer than the original PSP battery, which lasted for 2 hours and 15 minutes in our tests.

Game 2: Lumines II

Next, we played Lumines II for 3 hours and 10 minutes before the PSP shut off. Again, this is slightly longer than the original PSP battery, which only lasted for 2 hours and 50 minutes.

Game 3: Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

Our final game was Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. We played the game for 3 hours and 45 minutes before the PSP shut off. This is significantly longer than the original PSP battery, which only lasted for 2 hours and 50 minutes.

Conclusion

Overall, we’re very impressed with the Batmax Battery. It’s easy to install, has a similar design to the original PSP battery, and provides longer battery life than the original battery in our tests. While the capacity of the Batmax Battery is only slightly higher than the original battery, it seems to be more efficient and able to provide longer-lasting power.
